Dance Classes
Creative Movement – Uses singing, dancing and acting to help young children expand their imagination. This class is an excellent introduction to any physical education as it develops balance, flexibility and coordination at a young age. Class is for students ages 2-4.
Story-Time Dance – This program is a wonderful way to nurture the young creative spirit through story and movement. Students will read a story and explore how to present it to an audience using basic dance movements and facial expressions. We will use our imaginations to create live performances, presented at the end of each session. Students will improve communication skills while expanding the limits of their creativity!
Ballet – Offered in level-based classes for students ages 5-18
Jazz – Offered in level-based classes for students ages 7-18
Modern – Offered in level-based classes for students ages 7-18
Hip-Hop – Offered in level based classes for students ages 5-18
Tap – Offered in level based classes for students ages 5-18
Choreography – This class gives our dancers the opportunity to further develop the styles they’re learning and to create original pieces.
Musicality – This class is an introduction to various forms of music and the way that movement is applied to various time signatures, rhythms, lyrics and mood.
Ballroom
Design Dance also offers ballroom dance for children and adults. In this
class, students learn the basics of various ballroom/social dances
including Salsa, Tango, Rumba, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Waltz, and Swing. Lead
and follow skills, musicality, dance floor etiquette, and correct
posture will also be taught. You will learn to dance to different types
of music, from classical music to popular songs. An excellent skill for
children as young as 7 yrs. old to learn and enjoy.
We offer 3 different sections of ballroom dance:
Junior Ballroom: ages 7-10
Youth Ballroom: ages 11-14
Teen/Adult Ballroom: ages 15 +
