Maximum and Minimum Enrollment Numbers

  • Design Dance requires a minimum of 5 enrolled students to run any program.

  • The maximum registration allowed for any particular program is 15.

  • Design Dance may, at its own discretion and in consultation with Teaching Artists and/or partners, adjust maximum and minimum numbers if appropriate.

Trial Classes

  • Design Dance offers the first day of any session as a trial class.

  • The trial class is intended for students to experience a Design Dance class before committing to a whole session.

  • Trial classes are only available for the first day of any session.

  • Trial class policies are not applicable to Pearachute students.

Low Enrollment

  • If a class has only 1 or 2 students enrolled, the class will be cancelled.

  • If a class has 3 or 4 students enrolled, Design Dance typically reaches out to those enrolled with a Low Enrollment notice.

  • In conjunction with Design Dance’s policy to allow trial classes during the first two weeks of class, a low-enrolled class may  run for the first week.

  • Design Dance reserves the right to cancel a program for any reason, and without following the process outlined above.

Waitlisted Classes

  • Once maximum enrollment (15) is reached, our registration platform offers a waitlist option.

  • If a space in class becomes available, Design Dance will reach out to those on the waitlist in the order in which they added themselves.

  • If there is no available space in a class, Design Dance will reach out to those on the waitlist about other potential classes.

Refunds and Cancelled Registration

  • We allow one trial class on the first class of any session so that students may determine if the class is a good fit.

  • A full refund will be provided if Design Dance is contacted within the first week of the program.

  • If a refund is requested during the second week of the program, Design Dance will refund for the remaining classes in the session.

    • This is true regardless of how many classes a student has attended

  • Refunds are not available past the second week, except in extreme circumstances and at the discretion of Design Dance staff.

  • If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment during or before the first week of a session, full refunds will be issued.

  • Pearachute students should consult Pearachute’s refund policy.

  • Design Dance defers to Right at School and J at School’s policies regarding enrollment in those programs.

  • Please note that refunds can take between 5-10 business days to fully process.

Cancelled Classes Due To Emergency

Design Dance rarely cancels classes, but occasionally unforeseen circumstances necessitate a class cancellation. In the event of class cancellations, Design Dance will notify the email address on file (the email used with registration) of the class cancellation.

There are two reasons a class may be cancelled:

  1. An emergency outside our control, such as:

    • Family emergency

    • Vehicle malfunction

    • Personal illness

  2. An Act of God, such as:

    • Natural disasters

    • War

    • Disease outbreak

If a cancellation for the above reasons must occur, Design Dance will take the following actions to remedy the situation:

  • If a class is cancelled within two hours of the class time, we will do our best to send a call and/or text notification.

  • Design Dance will work diligently with our partners and facilities to schedule a make-up class.

  • In the event that a reschedule isn’t possible, a credit will be extended to all effected families for the full value of missed classes.

  • Please note: We are unable to give refunds for classes cancelled due to weather, facility issues, school closure, school or venue-dictated unavailability of space, vehicular accidents, or any other issue beyond Design Dance’s direct control.

Please know that Design Dance is committed to the health and safety of our students, families, instructors, and staff and will take every precaution necessary. In the event of an emergency, we will always prioritize the safety of each member of our community.

Our staff remains in close partnership with school officials to ensure alignment on policies, procedures, and schedule changes.

Student Absences & Make-Up Classes

  • There are no refunds given for student absence, including but not limited to, illness, vacation, suspension, etc.

  • If a student is sick with a communicable illness or disease, the student will be prohibited from attending a Design Dance program for a determined period of time, depending on the illness/disease. Those missed days will not be refunded.

  • If a student has missed a class at one of our parks or community center locations, the student may make-up the class in another Design Dance class.

    • Make-up classes do not need to be at the same location, but do need to be suitable for the same age range.

    • Each student may make-up no more than 3 classes per session.

    • For make-up class options, please contact programs@designdance.net

    • While Design Dance is happy to facilitate make-up opportunities, a suitable class may not be available for a particular session.

Promotions and Discounts

  • Design Dance may offer promotional codes or other discounts for a percentage or set dollar amount off of a particular session.

  • Typically, promotional codes or other discounts are only applicable to the next session or a current academic year.

  • Discounts or promotional codes cannot be applied retroactively to an order.

  • If an order is refunded, discounts may or may not be available to re-use for future sessions.

  • Each discount may have its own specific stipulations, which may be communicated with the announcement of a discount or code.

  • Policies around discounts may change at any time, without written notice from Design Dance.

Scholarships

  • Scholarships may be available for particular programs and/or schools. Please contact us at info@designdance.net for more information about what may be available.
