Jahmilah Alazam
Jahmilah is a vibrant and versatile performer, who began singing and dancing professionally at age 16. She received scholarships to study at Chicago’s top dance and music institutions including Joel Hall Dance Center, Hubbard Street Dance Center, Merit School of Music, Old Town School of Folk Music, and Columbia College.
Jahmilah is noted for her training in hip hop and breakdancing. Currently, Jahmilah dances with four internationally recognized hip hop and modern dance troupes: Culture Shock Chicago, Stick and Move Dance Crew, Corpo Dance Company, and Rfsf. She is also a touring background singer and choreographer for recording artist Nikki Lynette. Jahmilah has been a featured dancer for promotional campaigns and youth outreach with Nike, D.A.R.E., Office Max, The Goodman Theater, Chicago Dance Crash, Dance Chicago, and more.
She teaches regularly at The Dance Academy, Collective Dance Studio, and Attune Therapy, serves as a popular substitute instructor in Chicagoland, and conducts dance workshops throughout Illinois.
