Students are taught vocabulary and choreography as they are encouraged to create movements and phrases on their own. We will work on identifying rhythm through individual and group activities and each class will have the chance to participate in an end of session performance. All breakdancing students should wear clean gym shoes and comfortable clothes that they can move in.

Ballet

An excellent preparation for continuing dance training in any discipline. Pre-Dance students are not required to wear ballet attire for pre-dance, though they are more than welcome to wear ballet slippers, tights and a leotard.

This class follows a traditional ballet class format and introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of ballet while building strength, flexibility and agility. All ballet students should arrive to class wearing ballet slippers, tights and a leotard.

Story Time Dance

Storytime Dance is an excellent beginning dance class or supplement to pre-dance or ballet. Storytime Dance brings your favorite literary characters to life! Students will dance their way through popular children’s stories, using creativity, choreography, and character building skills. Dancers will be taught fundamental dance basics while also learning vital skills in comprehension, memorization, and performance.

Modern

Modern  is more than meets the eye; it is a way to reflect a culture and times of a society and therefore, is a great vehicle for empowering young dancers with a voice. It rejects artificiality and elaborate costumes and focuses on the body itself, how we connect to each other, and how we ground ourselves to the earth. We will explore modern dance through its complimentary art of improvisation. When children play through improv, they develop skills in self-awareness, empathy, focus and creativity which are all essential traits to counteract low self-esteem and harness intrinsic joy. Through this dance series, your children will develop great postural alignment and flow through dance in a way that develops healthy dance habits. In the end, they will present something that is uniquely, organically created by them!

Jazznastics

Jazznastics Dancers learn the basics of pre-dance while incorporating beginning tumbling skills! This class is an excellent way to improve coordination, flexibility and motor skills while having a blast! Students should wear something they're comfortable moving in - leotard and tights are acceptable but not required.  Students may wear socks or ballet shoes.

Tap/Jazz

Tippity Tap introduces children to the basics of tap dancing within the structure of a traditional tap class. Children are taught to understand basic rhythm and counting skills while by mimicking sounds they hear in class and in music. All tap students should wear tap shoes and comfortable clothes that they can move in.

Jr. Jazz/Tap is a perfect introduction to both dance styles in a fun and encouraging environment. Students will learn both tap and jazz during each class session. All tap students should wear tap shoes and comfortable clothes that they can move in.
