Enrollment

Design Dance Enrollment Policies

The Brainchild Collective reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. We are always sad to do so.

  1. In the event that a class is cancelled, we will notify the instructor as soon as possible by phone or email.

  2. Typically, our minimum number of students is 5

  3. Typically, our maximum number of students is 15

  4. In some cases, you may be asked to run 1-2 trial weeks to increase interest and enrollment numbers.

    1. During these trial weeks, we will be in communication about running these programs.

    2. In Chicago Park District programs, these classes are paid at a $20/class rate.

    3. In school partner programs, these classes are paid at the Independent Contractor’s specified Tier Assignment rate.

  5. Typically, we follow the following model for determining whether a class will run or not. Please note that these parameters may change based on location, session, or a number of other factors outside our control:

    1. <3 enrolled means that we’ll cancel the class outright

    2. 3-4 enrolled typically means we’ll run a trial week.

      1. We often decide to run a class with just 4, with the teacher’s consent.

    3. 5+ enrolled means the class will run for that session.

  6. Instructors are required to track attendance of students from week-to-week in rosters provided, unless otherwise directed by Brainchild Collective management, and must notify Brainchild Collective management should a student be absent for no more than 2 consecutive class periods.

  7. The Brainchild Collective reserves the right to invite families to attend a class outside of their regularly scheduled programming in the event that the family has been approved for a trial program or a make-up class. Instructors are required to welcome and include trial and/or make-up students into their program.
